PARCC Releases Tool To Prepare Schools and Districts for Rigorous 21st Century Assessments

 

WASHINGTON - March 5, 2013 - The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) today announced a new planning tool and guidance for schools and districts that will help them get ready for new, 21st century assessments in the 2014-2015 school year.

New Tests for Massachusetts Students on the Horizon

Beginning in the 2014-2015 school year, students in Massachusetts will take the computer-based PARCC testing system in grades 3 through 11 in lieu of the English language arts and math MCAS. PARCC Releases Draft Accommodations Policies for Public Comment

WASHINGTON - January 16, 2013 - The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) released two draft accommodations policies for public comment, the reading access accommodation and the calculator use accommodation.

In addition to allowing a full array of testing accommodations on summative tests, PARCC is proposing two accommodations that will expand access to its tests to an even wider range of students with disabilities.

New Technology Guidelines to be Released

PARCC is preparing Version 2.0 of its Technology Guidelines for PARCC Assessments for release during the week of December 17-21, 2012. The new Guidelines will detail minimum and recommended levels for device specifications, and will provide updated considerations for bandwidth and the range of device types.
